3. Maleic anhydride is an important unsaturated organic anhydride basic raw material. It is used in the production of pesticides to synthesize diethyl maleate, intermediate of organophosphorus malathion, intermediate of pyridathiophosphorus 1-phenyl-3, 6-dihydroxy pyridazine, and intermediate of pyrethroid insecticide amthrin, fungicide and clomydam.
